DIY Face Scrub

Over the past few weeks I’ve been using this face-scrub to wash my face once or twice a week and let me just say that, I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on my skin complexion. I’ve also been noticing how my makeup applies more smoothly and looks way more natural and it also has an even texture and finish.

I have read a lot and lots of home-made recipes over the past years, and one day I was home getting a “at-home-spa-day” and wondered around the kitchen and found the most basic and right on hand ingredients, so without more further ado, let’s jump into the ingredients and it’s benefits!

What you’ll need:

  • Olive oil
  • Sugar
  • Face Soap
  • Mixing bowl

Olive Oil: Rich in vitamins, minerals and natural fatty acids. It’s also convenient for a sensitive skin. Is also a powerful ingredient of anti-aging skin care products; rich in antioxidants, it prevents skin aging, the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, it also nourishes, rejuvenates and protects the skin, rich in vitamin E and A, olive oil helps prolong youth, hydrates the skin, maintains its elasticity and softness. Also, olive oil helps skin cells to regenerate.

Granulated Sugar: Sugar’s small particles make an excellent topical exfoliant, and are used in a number of body scrubs to exfoliate dead surface skin cells and reveal the glowing, healthy-looking skin underneath; sugar is also a natural humectant; sugar helps encouraging the cell turnover and generating fresher, younger-looking skin.

Unscented Soap:  Prevents irritation ans allergies, it also help to cleanse and remove impurities from the skin. PicMonkey Collage

1. Gather all of the ingredients, an empty bowl, and place a towel underneath of them to create a designated area for you to make the DIY mess-free.

2. Pour some liquid soap into the bowl, about two quarter sizes.

3. Pour the sugar into the bowl until it covers the soap.

4.Pour some olive oil, until you cover the sugar don’t make it over flow, remember it has to have a thick consistency .

5. Mix your little concoction of healthy ingredients

6. Stop when you reach this kind of consistency; Make sure to not over mix, otherwise you’ll start dissolving the sugar and it will defeat it’s purpose as an exfoliant.PicMonkey Collage2

Once you’ve created the perfect consistency, damp your face with warm water and let the scrubbing begin. I usually stop until the sugar it’s dissolved witch really doesn’t take more than 5 minutes tops.

Rinse with warm water and proceed to wash your face with a regular gentle cleanser to get rid of the sugar residue on your face and after rinse with cold water to close up your pores and avoid any creation of dark circles.

I’ll leave you guys here pictures of the application process  and after result! :). Don’t forget to let me know if you tried it and what are your thoughts on this DIY. Also, let me know if you like this kind of blog and tell us what would you like to see next!. Until next time..

Drugstore GEMS: Sally Hansen, Hard as Nails, Base Coat.

WP_000876Hello you guys!? how is everybody doing!? are you guys enjoying this beautiful fall weather!? ❤ ’cause I am loving it so much! <3.

But going back to today’s Blog… Today I noticed the newly improved health of my nails, and I owe it all to this little guy right here <3, The Hard as Nails, Base Coat by Sally Hansen. To be honest I got this product just because I ran out of my OPI Nail Base Coat, and I wanted to do my nails so badly that I just went ahead to the drugstore and got this little guy super randomly, it just so happened that I ended up loving it, and I also thing that this is not rave enough here in the beauty community.

Up until today, I have been using this base coat for about 2 months now, and at first I thought it was a good product but nothing out of the ordinary, I finished the bottle, but i really wasn’t into repurchasing it, also I found another base coat on my nail polish drawer so I went ahead and used it. After 2 manicure that I gave myself that didn’t lasted very long I realized that, this “Hard as Nails” was the balm! it not only made my nails harder but it made my nail polished to last for a little over a week and sometimes even two weeks, which for me it is amazing, due to the fact that I do laundry, cook, do dishes and all sort of things, This is actually pretty cool.

I will recommend this base coat to anyone who has really fragile and breakage prone nails. and basically anyone who likes to have a at home long-lasting manicure. This product it is really awesome and it deserves 4.5 out of 5 Stars ❤

Looking natural and fresh might be one of the trickiest look to create. Wearing a dramatic make-up on the daily bases can make us seem like we are trying to hard. A natural look is the best way to go for our everyday make-up.The bright Red Lipstick doesn’t need to come up every day. Don’t get me wrong, We do need red lipstick in out life but not to wear it for work every day.! We can use are fun stuff for a lunch date, hang out with friends, dinner, cocktails after work and any other occasion that you have on mind. I will give you tips for a natural look including face, eyes, and lips.

1.  Apply a primer will help your makeup to look smooth and clean. It can also cut way down on the likelihood of any creasing that can happen with your shadow. not caked on or uneven. Second, when you apply primer to your eyelids, you

2.  Mix bronzer with your usual face lotion to dilute the color and help it spread easily. It will help us get a sun-kissed look without looking like you added anything to your skin.

3.  Use the correct concealer color: When concealing trouble spots like dark circles or pimples, using the right kind of concealer is crucial. Avoid orange, “fake tan” colors of concealer. Use yellow-toned concealer for redness or dark circles, lavender concealer for yellowish skin or extremely dark circles and green concealer for pimples or other red spots.

4.  Groom your brows whether that mean shaped, tweezed or waxed. Eyebrow pencil, when used, should be two to three shades lighter than your actual brow color.

5.  Blend, blend, blend! Obvious as it may sound, blending your makeup can make or break a look. With each step of your makeup routine, blend your makeup, then blend once more just for good measure.

6.   We’re going for the “barely there” look for every day, choose neutral colors that will compliment your skin tone. While it’s true that purple shadows bring out hazel eyes and greens bring out brown eyes, keep things looking natural with shades of tan, brown and cream for shadows. When it comes to blush, go for peaches and roses, or the color your cheeks naturally become when you’re flushed.

7.  Avoid using mascara that either clumps or flakes. First and foremost, if your mascara is more than three months old, you need to ditch it for a fresh one. Old mascara gets dried out, causing clumps, flakes and sometimes even infection. Curl your eyelashes before applying mascara for a good, natxc872e2deq8b78ebural base, then apply by shaking the wand at the root of the eyelashes and brushing up and out. For a more natural look, apply just one coat.

8.  There are some of us, who won’t leave the house without something on their lips, keep things looking natural with a lip stain or tint that’s two shades deeper than your natural color for a “just kissed” look. When you’re going for an au naturel lip, avoid waxy lipsticks or dark shades.

Now we know how to create a gorgeous natural look for our every day make-up. Next time you try this look, don’t forget to take a picture and tweet us with the #teamglamitupnatural. I cant wait to see what you guys came up with!!!!

Wish you the best
